Kelly Hainsworth joins the team of forum experts

Let’s hear a bit about your background….

Hi, my name is Kelly Hainsworth and I am a fully qualified reflexologist specialising in maternity reflexology and women's health. I am also trained to deliver thermo-auricular therapy. I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists, and am committed to delivering the best to my clients.

I only practise these therapies; not just because I love them, but because I prefer to focus on gaining as much expertise as possible in those disciplines. I am passionate about my treatments, and the benefits they may bring to your life, whether you have a specific health problem or simply to help you enjoy the best possible levels of energy and well-being.

I first became involved with reflexology in 2006. I was experiencing difficulties sleeping and was unable to relax following a bereavement.

A friend suggested I tried reflexology to help, and to promote a good night’s sleep. I was amazed with the results – after just a few sessions I began to sleep well without waking several times a night and I felt able to relax again.

Through my personal experience I was fascinated with reflexology and wanted to learn more about it. I enrolled with the International Institute of Reflexology (IIR) which is the oldest reflexology school.

I established my reflexology practice in 2008 and am proud to offer treatments in Leicestershire in the beautiful treatment room at The Health Workshop, in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

And what about your field of expertise? How did that come about?

Once my business was established, I was delighted to undergo maternity reflexology training with David Wayte. I am proud to say I have provided treatments to many mums-to-be in Leicestershire since then. A number of my clients have received maternity treatments from me for all of their pregnancies - there couldn't be a greater complement.

What do you most love about life?

My family and friends - they are everything to me.

OK, so what about the not-so-good-bits?

Being self-employed is not for the faint-hearted, but it's very, very rewarding.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Being a mum is certainly my biggest achievement; I am so proud of our daughter and all she has achieved.

What is your next big goal in life?

To get fit for my 40th birthday! I am determined to look fab for 40 :o)

Coffee or herbal infusion?

I love both; it depends what I am doing. But if it's coffee, it has be a good quality filter coffee.

Dark, milk or white chocolate?

Definitely dark chocolate.

What word or phrase do you most overuse?

It's definitely, definitely ;o)

What is the most important lesson that life has taught you?

Following the death of my brother in 2006, this was the biggest life lesson of all. It makes your realise how precious life is and to grab every opportunity that comes your way. It may sound corny, but we only have one shot, so let's get on with it and see what happens!

What is your work or business philosophy?

Be the best you can be, and deliver the best level of service to your clients. They deserve it.

What one piece of advice would you pass on to others?

Love life and those close to you x
