I’ve worked in the interiors industry for the past 8 years – for national publications, interior design agencies and commercial and private clients. I’m currently the Homes Content Editor for Real Homes magazine and an independent Interiors Stylist and a Home Organiser
And what about your field of expertise? How did that come about?
After working in photography for many years as a Picture Editor, I discovered my love for interiors and styling. By briefing and attending photo shoots for magazines I quickly realised a passion for creating beautiful spaces. I began conceptualising themes for regular product shoots and worked with amazing interiors companies to showcase their products. This in turn led me to understand the need to create a calm and efficient, yet beautiful environment within the home
What do you most love about life?
Being in nature, preferably by the sea, walking with good friends and knowing there is a pub or slice of cake to look forward to afterwards. I’m also a Reiki practitioner and love exploring the connection between mind, body and soul. (And Jo’s fitness classes too of course J)
OK, so what about the not-so-good-bits?
Long distant driving. I’m from the South East of England so spend a lot of time on the road when visiting friends and family
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
When I was in my early 20’s I moved to Los Angeles. I had to find a job and make a life from scratch, which was daunting, but I managed and had a great time. I lived there for over 5 years, by the sea and had various jobs, one of which was in the movie poster design business and another in photography. I chose to come back as I missed England and English people – but the experience taught me that anything is possible and building a new life anywhere is very achievable
What is your next big goal in life?
To be the best parent I can be. I’m due to become a mum for the first time and hope to rise to the challenge
Coffee or herbal infusion?
I’m all about decaf English breakfast
Dark, milk or white chocolate?
I know dark is healthier, but pass me the milk chocolate
What word or phrase do you most overuse?
I genuinely use the word ‘genuinely’ too often
What is the most important lesson that life has taught you?
Trust your instincts and then most importantly - follow them. All the answers you ever need are already there
What is your work or business philosophy?
Align your morals and passion with your career. And as the old cliché goes, find a job you love and you’ll never work another day in your life *
What one piece of advice would you pass on to others?
Your home is a reflection of you – so make it a joy to be in and treat it with respect
Thank you for joining the team Anna ad welcome :)
